The Cardiac Cycle, Heart sounds, and Blood Pressure | My Journey In Science 4
We started our class with an opening prayer lead by Juliane, and then proceeded to our lesson. On the first slide of the power point, our teacher asked us to tell our answers about our activity last time. My teacher called me first to answer his question, I answered with confidence but I later found out that my classmates and my teacher could not hear me. So I needed to exit the meeting to restart my phone but it was fixed immediately and I was able to answer again.
What I learned about our lessons for today is about the Cardiac Cycle, Heart Sounds, and Blood Pressure. Wherein the cardiac cycle pertains to the sequence of events that happen when the heart beats. The cardiac cycle consists of the heart's alternate and rhythmic systole and diastole of the atria and ventricles. As the heart relaxes and contracts, a distinctive heart sound is produced.
I was able to know about heart sounds and how they are produced. The difference between "lub" and "dub". I clearly understand also about blood pressure and its measurement. Blood pressure is the force exerted by the circulating blood upon the walls of the blood vessels.
A sphygmomanometer measures blood pressure. The stretching of the artery caused by the pressure of the blood is called pulse. I get familiarize also about the systolic and diastolic pressure. I have learned also the eight pulse sites i a human body such as the temporal artery, facial artery, carotid artery, brachial artery, radial artery, femoral artery, popliteal artery and dorsalis pedis artery.
